El Cajon lodge 1812 was represented by nine members at the ninth Intergenerational Games at La Mesa Middle School. Each adult was paired with one or two fourth graders for a morning of fun helping to bridge the impressions of both the youngsters and those of us over 55. The games ranged from cup stacking to shooting baskets. Part of the theme was to promote body movement and good nutrition. Everyone had a great time and all were declared winners.
We were also asked to help Elmcroft Assisted Living Group recognize thirteen of their residents at a 9/11 remembrance. Colleen and Brian Jones, veterans committee co-chairmen attended the event and presented certificates and pins to the veterans thanking them for their service to our country.
In other news, the annual Elkaritaville party was a great success raising lots of money for the east county children’s charities.
