Physical Therapy

Moving in the Right Direction

CHEMPI Elks Physical Therapists travel from home to home in California and Hawaii to evaluate and treat children with a wide range of disabilities.

Their focus is to help these children learn or improve important motor skills by educating or re-educating muscles and increase strength, endurance and coordination. Parent involvement helps increase the rate of success.

Our Elk's Physical Therapists are highly specialized in treating children with movement disorders and musculoskeletal issues. Children are naturally motivated to move, engage, and be physically involved in their environments.

The Physical Therapist's goal is to help children learn or improve important motor skills by educating or re-educating muscles and increasing strength, endurance, and coordination. Whether it is holding their own heads up, sitting or standing by themselves, or learning to move, walk, and use an electric wheelchair.

Through it all, the family is kept involved, with parents encouraged to learn and participate in the therapy sessions. The promise of personal achievement on any level for the child means a brighter outlook for the whole family.

Many children with disabilities face obsticals outside of their homes such as stairs, cars, and doors. This can lead to isolation. Our Physical Therapists work closely with schools, area resources, and clinics to ensure the child has the most typical life experiences as possible.
