BLT Legacy Giving provides a meaningful way to support the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project, ensuring children with disabilities receive vital services for generations to come. Legacy gifts create long-term impact while honoring the values of service, compassion, and generosity.

Legacy Giving

The Bequests and Living Trust (BLT) was begun to work hand in hand with the Piggy Bank Program. It is a safety net for the future, ensuring that we can continue to help children with disabilities for years to come.

  • There are many ways to give and every gift is appreciated and well spent
  • 92% of every dollar contributed directly benefits the children we help
  • As with all donations made to CHEMPI, legacy gifts are tax deductible

Ways to Leave a Legacy

There are several flexible and meaningful ways to participate in BLT Legacy Giving and create a lasting impact for children with disabilities.

  • Add the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project, Inc. as a beneficiary to any life insurance policy.
  • Include the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project, Inc. in your will or estate plan.
  • Create a BLT Commitment Trust.

BLT Commitment Trust

A BLT Commitment Trust allows donors to create lasting charitable impact while receiving lifetime financial benefits.

Key Features

  • Minimum contribution: $10,000
  • Initial gift is tax-deductible
  • $700 income during the first year
  • An annual payment of 7% based on the value of the trust, after the first year
  • Payments continue for the life of the donor and donor's spouse
  • After both the donor and spouse pass, all monies remaining in the BLT Commitment Trust go to the Major Project
